Tennessee Air Museum finally lists Airwolf Replica
07/16/10 at 12:47pm

For anyone who hasn't seen the awesome Airwolf Replica (made by Steven W. Stull moulded from Clark's original Airwolf add-on Body Parts from the actual flying chopper), then the TENNESSEE MUSEUM OF AVIATION in Sevierville have finally listed the chopper officially amongst its aircraft.

http://www.tnairmuseum.com/node/19

Tennessee Museum of Aviation
135 Air Museum Way (off 1074 Dolly Parton Parkway)
Sevierville
TN 37862-8703
USA
Tel: (865) 908-0171‎

35°51'36.94"N
83°32'6.16"W

(Correct SatNav unlike where Google says it is!)

...

It's even in an official site photo for the first time...

It's time you booked your trip out there folks; you'll not live forever!   Cheesy

I am so glad to see Airwolf has a home now!  I also like the idea, she is on the ground and not hanging. Something about the eye bolts sticking out, just didn't look right.
Thanks for the info...

The ADF pod was already made and installed at the time. It's just the chain guns that were not made. The ADF was put up for auction on ebay once.

The ADF pod link is below.

i saw that the ADF pod was built, and i understand that the chain guns were somewhat underway, i'm just saying that it would be nice to have them installed on the bird.

The contract / museum was cancelled and the Replica Chainguns were never made in the end unfortunately.

I think the link can be found here from another topic about the original Airwolf mock up with a added comment from Mark on the Chainguns that were never created for the Replica airwolf.

given that clark has the originals some decent looking replcas could be built and installed that would clearly be window dressing but would help complete airwolf! just sayin!

It's all down to cash, Bob.

If someone wants to throw a load of shekels Clark's and Steve's way I'm sure that part of the project could be finished (along with the interior). I'm sure the Replica's owner, Dan Haynes would be very happy with any professional addition.

Can't see it happening any time soon though unless a Lottery winner has a fit of generosity, as there's no logical business reason to do it otherwise.

Except maybe a few people being the Super-Fans they are, could empty their piggy-banks, chip in enough of their finances to get the guns and interior done, and actually get the bloody thing transferred to somewhere, that'll FULLY display it to a good number of visitors.  Wink

That has to be a much better and popular museum that gets plenty of visitors, even if it's just during specific periods in the year; a museum in a town that sees a significant, fairly or largely-sized airshow being ideal.

i don't think that a lot of money is required. my thought is that these would be totally facades, and not flightworthy. so a lot of it could be made with common materials found in a lot of home garages.

Never take short cuts in making anything cheap my friend. I think everyone would want something thats going to last without replacing it at all and where it will withstand the harmful environment for years to come for fans alike. If these guns get built in the years ahead I prefer to see them done the proper way. But if your going to be a cheap S.O.B. expect the sh*tiest portion.

look, i just finished a 2 seat go fast airplane that is getiing inspected tomorrow and first flight will occur on wednesday. this aircraft is made of aluminum with lots and lots of rivets. what i'm saying is not to make it cheap but to make it inexpensively. i have lots of aluminum scrap pieces from my build ( i would like to post pics, but i can't figure out how to post them here) (i could send them to clark and he could post them) that i would take as a challenge to build if clark wants to send pics of the originals to me with dimensions, i would give it a shot and then you guys decide if they are worth putting them on.

just sayin'!

Do you have Modzilla FireFox downloaded at work? this may bypass the firewall I`m unsure. I also understand companys will not allow you to use their own personal computers for all your own personal life needs, its only for business purposes within the company. So you maybe still be restricked if you are already using Modzilla FireFox.
